As the Drums of War Draw Near

It wasn’t too long ago that most of the top think tankers and strategic analysts both in and out of academia as is the case with such experts were telling those elements of the power structure that have come to known in other circles as the deep state that the central issue facing the West in regard to the Middle East was the demographic problem. That demographic problem as defined by these policy and analytical experts was the fact that there was a huge surplus male population between the ages of 15 to 35 without any real opportunities for economic or social advancement. Something to be done about this “problem” according to these elements of the deep state or else troubled waters lay ahead.

Inter ISIS with its leader Al-Baghdadi who had been held for many years in US custody and then was mysteriously released (after reprogramming?) in 2012. The reports that ISIS massacred 5000 Iraqi border guards and regular army troops taken prisoner in their push through Northern Iraq was even documented and the video posted to for all the world to see. The other day the world was once again treated to the sadistic spectacle of 200 Syrian soldiers captured by ISIS force marched practically naked though the Syrian dessert and then massacred en toto with the video also posted to until it was taken down by those elements of the deep state that seek to control content on the internet and www.

What seems so unsettling about this is the attempt by the deep state to make sure that these images either surface or disappear quickly in an effort to in some manner manipulate the public’s consciousness in regard to this group ISIS. I don’t claim to have any special knowledge regarding this group but there is enough well documented evidence available that proves conclusively that the so called “sarin gas attack” that the West rushed to blame on the Assad regime in Syria was actually a staged event that the West had been hoping to use in an effort that to justify an armed US/NATO intervention into the Syrian civil war that the West was responsible for in the first place as a result of its support for those Al-CIAda factions that it had used in the Libyan campaign to overthrow and lynch Col. Gaddaffi.[ It is highly likely that the jihaddi terrorist group that the deep state tasked with concocting “evidence” of the use of sarin gas against the civilian population in a Damascus suburb where the alleged “sarin gas attack” took place was indeed ISIS.]

No matter that there had been a stable government in Libya for 30 years that actually had done much to improve the lives of the Libyan people if only because it had the kind of governmental apparatus in place to keep Libya from descending into the chaos that exists there today. The sin of Gaddaffi was that he would not allow the wholesale mass gang raping of his country that the Western fossil fuel industry demanded.[ A former Jammariah general involved with the Gaddaffi supported Libyan incursion into Chad who became somehow disaffected by that particular misadventure left the country only to move to a residence in Vienna, VA a stones throw away from Langley. Obviously money talks and its the job of such deep state functionaries to see whose loyalties are for sale. Its called “tradecraft” so I have heard.]

The same neocon war criminals who wasted two trillion dollars of taxpayers money on their war of aggression in Iraq that cost the lives of over one million innocent Iraqis once again miscalculated in regard to their ability to control the situation in Libya. Predictably events spun out of control as the deal that the deep state thought that it had made with Al-CIAda went south taking the life of US Amb. Christopher Stevens and his bodyguards. Hillary Clinton’s crass offhand comment to reporters while de-planing in Tripoli “I came, I saw, he died” is emblematic of the attitude of the neocon gangsters. [This offhand remark was made in reference to the lynching of Gaddaffi but owing to the sadistic nature of the individual who uttered it could just as well have been meant for Stevens.] Clinton’s crass comment was eventually matched to some extent by the equally power driven maniac US DOS & White House official Victoria “Fuck the EU” Neuland. A first or perhaps second generation American who like most of the rest of the neocon scum seemed to have personal loyalties that were elsewhere than where they should have been. [Settling a score with Russia for something that perhaps was done to one’s great grandparents a hundred years ago during the Czarist era now qualifies one for a high State Department and/or White House post as opposed to former times when good character and scholarship might have been preferred.]

Such remarks as these that came out of the mouths of babes were only used as a laugh line in the capitalist corporate media; however they did reveal something about the inner mental state of these two particular power tripping neocon babes that is all to common these days and is emblematic of something far more serious than anyone cares to acknowledge in print. Such remarks are a clear indication of the kind of sadism that is all to frequently on display today that enjoys the suffering of others and revels in its own sublime sense of evil that it has managed to transmit to the masses in the same way that Nazi propagandists were able to successfully transfer their own personal sadism to the German masses. We know from history what the eventual result of that was for the German masses but the result for the American masses will be infinitely worse owing the great advances in weapons of mass long range extermination that have taken place over the course of 70 years since the end of the last global conflict that capitalism produced. [The darker complected masses of the gang raped Southern Hemisphere should perhaps be grateful that the white man has seen fit to invent the method of his own mass extermination and seems intent on using it against himself! Is there any wonder why Native American’s referred to the white man as “the brilliant moron?]

It would be nice to think that humanity has learned something useful since the end of WWII, but for all practical purposes maybe all that it has learned is how to disregard the lessons of history while further refining the very instruments of mass extermination that will possibly be used against them. I say “possibly” only because I still hold out the hope that learning for the masses is still possible and that WE THE PEOPLE can really do something to change our fate. Perhaps I would be better off abandoning hope and embracing the nihilism of the age based on ego gratification and the denial of the fact that there are higher aspects of the human psyche than may appear evident in times such as these and that we can tap into that higher aspect of consciousness to save ourselves from our own complacency.

“Abandon hope all ye who enter here” might indeed be the watch-words of our era as the world slides backward into chaos and barbarism but it is a chaos and barbarism that the West in particular is most responsible for and WE THE PEOPLE have the greatest personal and societal interest in reversing.

May it be so while there is still time to prevent a fate that now seems all to inevitable!

About charlesknause

I was born in Camden, N.J. (now the poorest city in America) in 1950 and grew up in a beautiful old Victorian town in South Jersey called Collingswood. I now live in Ormond Beach, FL where the weather suits my spirit. My personal life was impacted at an early point in my life by a psychiatric diagnosis that changed my life and put me on the workers scrap heap. I have refused to accept such a miserable fate and today consider myself a social activist dedicated to changing the way that people who have been diagnosed with a serious psychiatric disability are perceived by society and the people in their community. I have a B.S. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida and 18 graduate credits in Mental Health Counseling from Stetson University in DeLand, FL as well as 24 graduate credits in an MSW program at UCF. I am a member of the Volusia County Behavioral Health Care Providers Consortium where I function as an advocate. I am a daily reader of the World Socialist Website and an occasional contributor.
