The Malaysian Airlines Mystery Solved

The news related to the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 was strange enough until its sister story under another byline burst upon the public’s consciousness with the alleged shoot-down of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17. Somehow I had the nagging feeling that perhaps someone somewhere had a grudge against Malaysian Airlines and that there was more to this thing than just a mere coincidence.

Imagine my shock and horror then when I discovered in one of my daily flights through cyberspace in pursuit of the truth that there was such a thing set up sometime back a few years ago in Malaysia called the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Commission that had been set up by a member of what used to be called the non-aligned movement to try cases of war crimes and crimes against humanity that the ICC (the International Criminal Court at the Hague) refused to consider because such cases constitute the kinds of war crimes and crimes against humanity that the major countries of the West were responsible for perpetrating. It was the contention of this new international court of justice that the ICC was being used for political purposes by the West to pursue cases that were expedient for it to prosecute for political reasons such as the case against Charles Taylor the former head of state in the African nation of Liberia as well as the cases against former Serbian head of state Milosevic and the two Bosnian Serb official responsible for the genocide/massacre of 8,000 men at boys at Srebrenicia.

Not that such individuals shouldn’t have been prosecuted as they all were truly war criminals who had the blood of thousands on their hands. There was something strangely biblical in all of this in regard to that New Testament quote uttered by JC about finding the speck in someone else s eye but ignoring the log in one’s own eye. Yes, the major nations of the West who set up the ICC as a good PR venture aimed at the rest of the world had a very convenient way of ignoring the millions of innocent civilians who had perished at their hands while focusing on the bad guys of the underdeveloped and/or developing world. In other words the self righteous nations of the West were not about to hold themselves to the same high standards as they were prepared to hold others to.

This fact became more obvious with the US invasion of Iraq in violation of international law based upon well proven lies and the outright falsification of intelligence to justify such crimes against humanity as the US and Israel were responsible for. Such well documented studies as the British Lancet/Johns-Hopkins study revealed that over one million innocent Iraqis had died as a result of the illegal war of aggression waged by the US against the people of Iraq. This certainly constituted one of the greatest war crimes of the modern era that the ICC just chose to ignore thus putting paid to any illusions anyone might have had about the legitimacy of that particular pseudo-legal enterprise. The same rational applied to the slow motion genocide being waged by the Zionists against the indigenous population of Palestine. There was ample evidence available to try and convict the top political and military officials of the Zionist enterprise for the slow motion extermination campaign that they have been waging against the Palestinian people for over 50 years in violation of all international law governing such situations as apply to a people whose land is occupied by a foreign power. The ICC no doubt under pressure from the world’s foremost imperialist power and chief supporter of terrorism, i.e. the United States of Chaos chose to just ignore the blatantly illegal actions of the Zionist enterprise.

If the West had no stomach for the truth the same could not be said about Asia. It is for obvious reasons that the 21st century is being seen as the Asian Century. The moral and social decline began many years ago with the kind of unspoken and unacknowledged holocausts that the West had been responsible for during the colonial period. Such genocides as the one perpetrated by Belgium in the Congo under King Leopold were countless millions of Africans lost their lives come easily to mind. African lives were not worth as much however as European lives who perished in Europe by way of the Nazi attrocites which is why not much was ever heard about such genocides until just recently. As Asia began the process of reclaiming its rightful position in the world the emphasis seemed to shift to a new kind of global consciousness that was ready to hold the West to the same high standards that the West was prepared to hold other non Western nations to.

In 2012/2013 the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal found all the top Bush neocons ( and staunch Zionists) who had perpetrated the war of aggression against Iraq guilty of crimes against humanity. It also found the top Zionist officials involved in the slow motion genocide against the Palestinians guilty of the same charge, i.e. crimes against humanity.

There therefor exists in my mind (and you can judge for yourself) a strong correlation between the actions of the Malaysian courts actions and the ongoing lethal assault on its national airline Malaysian Airlines. This campaign of premeditated wonton terror has already taken nearly 600 lives in a very calculated and cruel manner. As any scientist or professional researcher can attest to correlation, even a strong correlation, does not conclusively prove that one thing caused another. The most famous legal case involving correlational studies was the now world famous US tobacco trials were the strong correlation between smoking cigarettes and incidents of cancer was sufficient as proof to make the case that indeed cigarette smoking did cause cancer. The largest civil awards in history were handed out to the plaintiffs in these cases as a result of the evidence suggested by the correlational studies.

So on the basis of this I rest my case in regard to the strange case of Malaysian Airlines and its misfortunes that has been solved at least to my satisfaction. There is no doubt that the truth of these events will never see the light of day as the West hurtles toward its ultimate day of destiny. It is sad to have to realize that nations and their national security services care so little about human life that they are willing and able to perpetrate such acts of terror on innocent civilians thus adding to the burden of history piled on to the West as it hurtles on to its ultimate doom.

As I said previously I like to think that the American people are the sleeping giant of world politics that have the capability to change all of this. I still abide by that one and only hope. Hope is the a dangerous thing for people such as myself and the power structure vested as it is in the national security state is well aware of that fact!

I thought this would be the post explaining how MH370 had actually been diverted to a remote airport in the Low Countries. Then, at the propitious moment, it had reappeared as MH17 with the advance knowledge that the rebellious Ukrainians would shoot it down.

What’s the motivation? It’s an insurance scam . . . .Malaysia Airlines is now only short one airplane, not two. However, it has collected, or will collect, the insurance claims on both ‘tragedies’.

Of course, there are alternate theories involving the loss of the important AIDS researchers.

What’s the motivation? The greedy capitalists on Earth are not yet ready to have the eradication of AIDS put a halt to the deaths of millions of poor people.

US spy plane incident raises more questions over MH17 crash

6 August 2014Confirmation that a US reconnaissance plane was forced to cross into Swedish airspace on July 18 raises more questions over the crash of Malaysian flight MH17 in east Ukraine just one day before, with the loss of all 298 passengers and crew.The incident, which was reported in the Swedish media, has only now been confirmed by American military officials.

According to accounts, the US Air Force RC-135 electronic surveillance plane was flying near Kalingrad, the Russian enclave between Poland and Lithuania, when it was forced to divert. Kalingrad is a major port for Russia’s Baltic fleet.

The US military’s European Command said that, when Russia launched a jet to intercept the spy plane, “The aircraft commander, acting in a professional and safe manner, maneuvered the aircraft to avoid a possible encounter by Russian aircraft.”

Sweden is not a member of NATO, and the statement said that the RC-135 pilot had been directed toward Swedish territory “incorrectly by U.S. personnel.”

According to other accounts, however, the RC-135 deviated into Swedish airspace despite being denied clearance to do so by Air Traffic Control.

These incidents raise new questions as to the conditions under which flight MH17 was shot down, including whether it could have been mistaken for a spy plane seeking to enter east Ukrainian or Russian air space.

The US surveillance plane, a military version of a Boeing 707, looks very similar to civilian aircraft. In August 1983, Korean Air Lines Flight 007 was shot down by Soviet fighter jets after it was mistaken for a military craft and deviated 200 miles from its route into Soviet airspace, with the loss of 269 lives.

The tragedy, at the height of the Cold War, fuelled tensions between Moscow and Russia. It provided political justification for the Reagan administration’s longstanding plans to deploy Pershing 11 and cruise missiles in West Germany, within 10 minutes’ striking distance from Moscow.

In the recent weeks, NATO has significantly expanded its use of reconnaissance aircraft in the region, as part of a military build-up against Russia. According to an August 1 briefing from the US Defence Department, Pentagon Press Secretary Navy Rear Admiral John Kirby said that US forces “continue to exercise in Central and Eastern Europe to reassure allies of America’s commitment to the region…

“US troops, aircraft and ships have been continually rotating in and out of the region, Kirby said.”

It is only one of a number of scenarios, however. Russia has said that video shots made by its Rostov monitoring centre show the presence of a Ukrainian Air Force Su-25 in the vicinity of MH17 at the time it crashed. The Su-25 attack jet is equipped with air-to-air R-60 missiles that can hit a target at a distance up to 12km.

Russia’s Defence Ministry states that a US satellite was over the area of eastern Ukraine at the time of the crash and has urged Washington to publish the photos and data it captured.

None have been forthcoming. Despite the insistence of the US and the European powers that Moscow is responsible for the crash, they have not produced any credible evidence to back up their assertions. More than two weeks on, there is still no report from the investigations into the black boxes recovered from the site.

This is all the more remarkable given that the US was heading a 10-day NATO exercise, Sea Breeze, which concluded the day MH17 was downed.

Warships and aircraft from seven NATO countries, including the US, Britain, Romania and Turkey, took part in the Black Sea drill which involved commercial traffic monitoring and “reaction to asymmetric threat warnings, anti-submarine warfare and artillery firing.” But the presence of sophisticated electronic intelligence in the vicinity has apparently yielded nothing as to the circumstances surrounding MH17’s crash.

What is certain is that US-led warmongering against Russia is directly responsible for the July 17 tragedy. Having backed the February coup, the Western powers fomented a civil war in Ukraine, turning the entire region into a tinderbox in the process. The Russian/Ukrainian border is especially volatile, with reports of repeated Ukrainian shelling of crossing points between the two countries.

The recklessness of US actions was further underscored by the response to Russia’s announcement that it is undertaking military exercises this week in the central and western regions of the country.

An account by Michael R Gordon and Eric Schmitt in the New York Times claimed that the “Buildup Makes Russia Battle-Ready for Ukraine.”

Painting the exercises as proof that Russia is the aggressor, they cited Antony J. Blinken, Deputy National Security Adviser to President Barack Obama, stating the exercise was “potentially positioning Russia for a so-called humanitarian or peacekeeping intervention in Ukraine.”

“[T]here’s urgency to arresting this,” Blinken continued.

It cited another senior American official stating, “The more success Ukrainian forces have, the more pressure there is on Moscow to escalate.”

Such comments underscore the reactionary strategic calculations underlying the US-NATO intervention in east Ukraine. As it presses the Ukrainian regime to crush opposition in east Ukraine, Washington is well aware that this increases pressure on Russia to invade Ukraine to defend ethnic Russians in east Ukraine, triggering a major war.

The question is posed, as the World Socialist Web Site raised previously, as to whether the US wants a war with Russia.

I found it just now, after reading some articles published in Malaysian newspapers concerning this incident. That is the reason I’m responding so late. I found your blog post by reading this:

I had a similar feeling already when that other plane disappeared. And it is clear that two incidents with Malaysian planes have got something to do with each others.

I have been wondering why somebody has got something against Malaysian airlines. (Of course that somebody had something against Chinese and Russians, too. The first disappeared plane was full of Chinese people and the recent plane shot down was clearly quickly used to put the blame in on Russians without any kind of evidence). But why Malaysians?

This is really the best explanation I have seen until now. That really might be the reason, why exactly Malaysian planes have been attacked.

We have seen a couple of weeks ago, that Malaysians already published a newspaper article that it was the junta of Kiev who arranged to shoot the plane down in Ukraine:

BERA: Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein today denied reports in the social media that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17 was shot down by fighter jets.

He said intelligence and evidence gathered from the fragments of the ill-fated aircraft clearly showed it was shot down by missiles that were launched to the air from the ground.

Why do they publish two articles in the same newspaper telling almost opposite stories; the other refuting the earlier article just two days after the first one? Somebody threatening them? We should note, too that these findings about the wreckage were not published in social media, but on a highly respected internet site, GlobalResearch.

It is clear that US and the European powers have got ‘something’ to hide, they have not produced any credible evidence to back up their assertions that Russians had something to do with the incident in Ukraine. They have been telling only plain lies using videos and audio tapes already proved to be fake.

I have read reports that inspectors at the site of the crash have discovered holes in the airplane fuselage indicating machine gun fire. Also, at the time of the attack a US satellite was overflying the area and there are obviously photos the satellite must have taken which have not been disclosed. It indicates evidence is being suppressed.

I have been away from this story for a couple of weeks now and will have to do some research online and otherwise to see what I can find out regarding the various investigations.

The last thing that I have heard that was of interest was the the government of Malaysia has bought a civil suit of some sort against the Ukrainian junta/government in Kiev. I will see what I can find out about this. I just saw you comments a few minutes ago so it will take me some time to post them to this blog site.

Global Research had a story or two that I read that indicated that based upon other reliable military sources the cabin had been machine gunned. This source stated that there had been a Ukrainian junta jet following closely behind MH17 and that this fact was probably observed by US DOD satalite overhead at the time but since this evidence does not fit the narrative that the neocons in control of policy want to maintain it is being suppressed. There is a separate USG agency that has a huge facility out side of DC in the VA suburbs that has responsibility for all satalite recon. It used to be called the NRO-National Reconnacence Office. (Please excuse my spelling-I have major issues with such!!)

I’ll get back to you if any when I am able to find out anything useful of new in regard to this matter.

I’ve read all the articles of GlobalResearch about this incident. I think that those people who have seen the holes are probably right.

The New York Times and Flight MH17

30 August 2014In an August 29 editorial calling for the US and NATO to adopt a retaliatory policy against Russia over its alleged “large and unacceptable escalation of … aggression against Ukraine,” the New York Times asserts in passing that after rebels in eastern Ukraine “shot down a Malaysian jetliner with a Russian missile … Russia’s involvement became more overt.”What is most striking about this assertion is that it comes after roughly a month in which the Times, like the vast majority of the Western media, has gone virtually silent on the downing of Flight MH17, even as the most important evidence, including the plane’s black boxes, has become available to investigators.

How is it that the Times can assert as an indisputable fact that the anti-Kiev forces in eastern Ukraine and Russia itself are responsible for bringing the airplane down?

There are indisputable facts involved in the MH17 tragedy. The plane, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on July 17, fell in the war zone of eastern Ukraine, and all 298 passengers and crew members lost their lives.

Beyond these facts, there exist different hypotheses as to the cause of the airliner’s crash. One hypothesis, which was developed within barely hours of the disaster, with no more credible support than highly questionable postings on social media, was that the anti-Kiev rebels in eastern Ukraine had shot the plane down with a Russian-supplied Buk surface-to-air missile, a weapon that the rebels denied having or possessing the skill to use.

It is hard to escape the conclusion that this hypothesis found immediate acceptance from not only the Times, but virtually all the Western media, because it was tailor-made to further a definite foreign policy agenda being pursued by Washington and its allies in opposition to Russia.

There are, however, other hypotheses. For example, Malaysia’s main daily English-language newspaper, the New Straits Times, reported on August 7 that compelling evidence points to the plane being brought down by an air-to-air missile and machine-gun fire from a Ukrainian Sukhoi-25 fighter jet. The report cited US intelligence analysts and investigators on the scene as saying that damage to the plane’s fuselage indicated it had been “crippled by an air-to-air missile and finished off with cannon fire” from a Ukrainian fighter.

The source of this report made it extremely noteworthy. The New Straits Times is a newspaper that reflects the views of the ruling party and government of Malaysia, which runs the airlines and which lost 43 of its citizens in the crash, second only to the Netherlands. Yet the report was blacked out by the Times, together with the vast majority of the media in the West.

The World Socialist Web Site does not claim to be in possession of irrefutable evidence explaining the MH17 disaster one way or the other. What is striking, however, is the way in which the media, and in particular the Times, the supposed newspaper of record, fail to subject the facts of this terrible tragedy to the kind of investigation one would expect in relation to a routine homicide in any major city. Instead, it merely parrots the line put out by the Obama administration and the US State Department.

What characterizes the Times’ coverage of this event, and really all events that touch in any serious way on the fundamental interests of US imperialism, is the complete absence of critical distance in relation to the US government and the ruling political establishment.

The newspaper does not function as a “watchdog” or “Fourth Estate,” adopting a critical and adversarial relationship to the state, but rather acts as its partner and servant. One can find this approach in relation to every major event of the past period, from the events of 9/11 to the preparation of a war of aggression in Iraq, through to the more recent series of global interventions and provocations, ranging from Libya to Syria and now Ukraine.

Among the more senior columnists and journalists at the Times, the Thomas Friedmans, Roger Cohens, etc., the incestuous relationship with those at the center of power is unconcealed and bolstered by the self-interest of this well-heeled layer. This same outlook pervades the editorial policy of the paper as a whole, turning it into a willing collaborator in disseminating a version of events designed to further Washington’s agenda.

The motto inscribed on the newspaper’s masthead—“All the news that’s fit to print”—would be more truthfully rendered as “all the news that fits the US government’s propaganda narrative,” and, as the case of flight MH17 shows, when the news fails to meet that criteria, it is blacked out.

The Times’ promotion of the lies about “weapons of mass destruction” used to drag the American people into a war that claimed a million Iraqi lives and killed nearly 4,500 US troops while wounding tens of thousands more, shows the terrible price that is paid when the media plays this role. It becomes all the more insidious and deadly dangerous in the case of MH17, where the issues at stake carry the seeds of a potential third world war.

Continuing media silence on the fate of flight MH17

29 August 2014With a handful of exceptions, a shroud of silence has been drawn by the international media regarding the fate of Malaysian Airlines MH17, which crashed over Ukraine nearly six weeks ago.Immediately after the plane crash on July 17, leading US officials, with Secretary of State John Kerry at the fore along with sections of the US and European media, alleged that the passenger jet had been shot down by a Russian missile fired by pro-Russian separatists operating in eastern Ukraine. The completely unfounded allegations were then used to create a frenzied political climate to justify the imposition of wide-ranging sanctions by the US and the European Union against Russia.

Since the crash there has been deliberate stalling on the part of Western authorities in releasing relevant information. At the start of this month Dutch investigators leading the inquiries announced they would release a preliminary report “in a few weeks.” Now, with only days before the end of the month, no such report has been issued. This is despite the fact that the Dutch co-ordinator for the struggle against terrorism admitted in parliament that the Dutch authorities already have extensive data from the black boxes and other sources in their possession.

One article which has raised questions regarding the silence surrounding the crash appeared recently in the German magazine Der Spiegel.

The magazine has played a particularly vile role in the US-led propaganda campaign to blame Russia for the crash. On the cover of its July 28 edition Der Spiegel featured photos of MH17 victims with the prominent red lettered text “Stop Putin Now!”. In its latest edition, the magazine again raises the banner of German militarism in a lead article deploring the state of the German army and arguing for a massive increase in military sending.

However, in one article on the crash, headlined “The strange silence of the investigators”, the magazine attempts to backtrack somewhat and at least intimate there are good reasons to doubt the official line put out by Washington and Brussels. The article refers to a letter sent to Barack Obama at the end of July by a group of former US intelligence officers. In their letter the group, known as VIPS, accused Secretary of State Kerry of attempting to use the crash to blacken Russia, recalling other blatant provocations by the Obama administration, such as the claim that Syria was responsible for chemical weapon attacks. The Obama administration has never responded to the allegations made in the VIPS letter.

The Spiegel article then goes on to quote reports in the Malaysian newspaper New Straits Times, which charge Ukraine with responsibility for the crash, citing one journalist who writes: “It is farcical that the country known for overseeing the world’s most sophisticated and far-reaching surveillance capabilities has sunk to citing grainy YouTube videos to justify its policy decisions.”

Noting that Dutch authorities already have considerable information about the details of the crash which they have undoubtedly shared with their German counterparts, the Spiegel article warns that it is unlikely that the black box recordings will ever be released in full. The Dutch investigation team recently announced that there were alleged legal grounds for withholding evidence from the boxes.

The failure of the media to raise the issue of the fate of MH17 prompted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to query on Monday why the plane’s black box recordings had not been released publicly. It appears, Lavrov said, that apart from Russia, “everyone else has lost interest in the investigation.”

Lavrov also asked why Ukraine had not yet provided recordings of conversations between air traffic controllers in the nearby airport of Dnepropetrovsk. Kiev has up until now persistently refused to publish the recordings of the conversations between the MH17 pilot and Ukrainian air traffic controllers.

Lavrov noted that Russia had contacted the International Civil Aviation Organisation, the United Nations aviation agency, and offered to provide its own information on the crash, but noted that “so far there is nothing transparent to be seen there either.”

Lavrov concluded: “We must not allow the investigation of the MH17 crash to be manipulated into oblivion as already happened to investigations of many Ukrainian tragedies, including the sniper assault against civilians in Kiev in February, massacres in Odessa and Mariupol in May, and others.”

Bearing in mind the leading role played by the US in utilizing the crash of MH17 to create the conditions for a confrontation with Russia, there can be no doubt that the administration in Washington and US intelligence services are in close contact with the Dutch authorities and are complicit in the efforts to bury the truth about what really took place on July 17.

US analysts conclude MH17 downed by aircraft
By Haris Hussain – 7 August 2014 @ 8:20 AMKUALA LUMPUR: INTELLIGENCE analysts in the United States had already concluded that Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by an air-to-air missile, and that the Ukrainian government had had something to do with it.This corroborates an emerging theory postulated by local investigators that the Boeing 777-200 was crippled by an air-to-air missile and finished off with cannon fire from a fighter that had been shadowing it as it plummeted to earth.

In a damning report dated Aug 3, headlined “Flight 17 Shoot-Down Scenario Shifts”, Associated Press reporter Robert Parry said “some US intelligence sources had concluded that the rebels and Russia were likely not at fault and that it appears Ukrainian government forces were to blame”.

This new revelation was posted on GlobalResearch, an independent research and media organisation.

In a statement released by the Ukrainian embassy on Tuesday, Kiev denied that its fighters were airborne during the time MH17 was shot down. This follows a statement released by the Russian Defence Ministry that its air traffic control had detected Ukrainian Air Force activity in the area on the same day.

They also denied all allegations made by the Russian government and said the country’s core interest was in ensuring an immediate, comprehensive, transparent and unbiased international investigation into the tragedy by establishing a state commission comprising experts from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and Eurocontrol.

“We have evidence that the plane was downed by Russian-backed terrorist with a BUK-M1 SAM system (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation reporting name SA-11) which, together with the crew, had been supplied from Russia. This was all confirmed by our intelligence, intercepted telephone conversations of the terrorists and satellite pictures.

“At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have never used any anti-aircraft missiles since the anti-terrorist operations started in early April,” the statement read.

Yesterday, the New Straits Times quoted experts who had said that photographs of the blast fragmentation patterns on the fuselage of the airliner showed two distinct shapes — the shredding pattern associated with a warhead packed with “flechettes”, and the more uniform, round-type penetration holes consistent with that of cannon rounds.

Parry’s conclusion also stemmed from the fact that despite assertions from the Obama administration, there has not been a shred of tangible evidence to support the conclusion that Russia supplied the rebels with the BUK-M1 anti-aircraft missile system that would be needed to hit a civilian jetliner flying at 33,000 feet.

Parry also cited a July 29 Canadian Broadcasting Corporation interview with Michael Bociurkiw, one of the first Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) investigators to arrive at the scene of the disaster, near Donetsk.

Bociurkiw is a Ukrainian-Canadian monitor with OSCE who, along with another colleague, were the first international monitors to reach the wreckage after flight MH17 was brought down over eastern Ukraine.

In the CBC interview, the reporter in the video preceded it with: “The wreckage was still smouldering when a small team from the OSCE got there. No other officials arrived for days”.

“There have been two or three pieces of fuselage that have been really pockmarked with what almost looks like machinegun fire; very, very strong machinegun fire,” Bociurkiw said in the interview.

Parry had said that Bociurkiw’s testimony is “as close to virgin, untouched evidence and testimony as we’ll ever get. Unlike a black-box interpretation-analysis long afterward by the Russian, British or Ukrainian governments, each of which has a horse in this race, this testimony from Bociurkiw is raw, independent and comes from one of the two earliest witnesses to the physical evidence.

“That’s powerfully authoritative testimony. Bociurkiw arrived there fast because he negotiated with the locals for the rest of the OSCE team, who were organising to come later,” Parry had said.

Retired Lufthansa pilot Peter Haisenko had also weighed in on the new shootdown theory with Parry and pointed to the entry and exit holes centred around the cockpit.

“You can see the entry and exit holes. The edge of a portion of the holes is bent inwards. These are the smaller holes, round and clean, showing the entry points most likely that of a 30mm caliber projectile.

“The edge of the other, the larger and slightly frayed exit holes, show shreds of metal pointing produced by the same caliber projectiles. Moreover, it is evident that these exit holes of the outer layer of the double aluminum reinforced structure are shredded or bent — outwardly.”

He deduced that in order to have some of those holes fraying inwardly, and the others fraying outwardly, there had to have been a second fighter firing into the cockpit from the airliner’s starboard side. This is critical, as no surface-fired missile (or shrapnel) hitting the airliner could possibly punch holes into the cockpit from both sides of the plane.

“It had to have been a hail of bullets from both sides that brought the plane down. This is Haisenko’s main discovery. You can’t have projectiles going in both directions — into the left-hand-side fuselage panel from both its left and right sides — unless they are coming at the panel from different directions.

“Nobody before Haisenko had noticed that the projectiles had ripped through that panel from both its left side and its right side. This is what rules out any ground-fired missile,” Parry had said.

The holes in the wreckage of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 are believed to have come from 30mm cannon fire.
